Yin Yoga

Yin yoga helps you to increase flexibility and completely relax. Ours busy lives can cause mental stress and physical tension which can lead to injuries. Yin yoga focuses on the connective tissue around the joints to enhance your natural range of motion. It is passive in nature and allows you to sit in a variety of poses for a longer length of time (usually 3-5 minutes) to read the deeper layers of fascia. You'll learn to relax the muscles so you can safely and comfortably stretch the connective tissues. Yin yoga invites stillness and has the profound effect of helping you release tension and stress. Yin yoga is suitable for all ages and body types - including pregnancy.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is a Sanskrit word literally meaning ‘to step or place in a special way’. It refers to the thoughtful process of moving from where you are now to where you want to go.

Vinyasa yoga classes increase mindfulness. During Vinyasa practice, by flowing with the breath, consciously linking the breath to the movement, wholeness is created. The breath starts just before the movement, and the movement finishes just before the end of the breath. This practice of awareness leads to Meditation in Motion.

Vinyasa is an active practice of yoga postures with each one preparing you for the ones to come. It is engaging and not always the same, with each class bringing a new and unique sequence of poses. For the duration of the class, the yoga is continuous, the transition is as important as the pose. Focus is maintained on smooth, even breathing, a steady, gentle focus of the eyes. Vinyasa yoga is a beautiful practice that can be personalised, making it suitable for all ages and body types - including pregnancy.
