- Place your order and include your hire dates on our calendar
- Follow the prompts through to checkout, where you can select shipping or pick up
- If you selected pick up we will send you the pick up instructions via email, on the date you selected
If you selected shipping, your TENS machine will be shipped a few days before your hire date and you will receive a tracking number via email - Returning the device to us via the shipping satchel included with your order

When shouldn't I use a TENS machine?
Never use a TENS machine under the following circumstances:
- Without talking to a midwife or doctor first
- Before you are 36 weeks pregnant
- When you’re in a shower, bath, or birth pool, or any form of water
- If you have broken skin or a healing scar where you want to place the pads
- If you have a cardiac pacemaker or a heart rhythm problem
- If you have pain that you don’t think is labour pain. See your doctor or midwife if this is the case
- On another part of your body other than your lower back as pictures in the instruction manual
How do I return the TENS machine if I have lost the return satchel
Unfortunately we are unable to replace the return satchel that was provided with your order. Please pay for postage and return t 92 Amethyst Crescent, Mount Richon 6112
Do I still pay for the hire if I don't end up using the TENS machine?
Yes, unfortunately if your circumstances change or you didn’t use your TENS machine we are unable to issue refunds once the machine has been dispatched. If it has not been dispatched via mail or collected from us then we can issue a full refund.
When is the best time to hire a TENS machine?
We would love you to have your TENS ready to go by 34-36 weeks. This gives you peace of mind that you have your labour tool kit ready to go for when your baby decides it’s time!
Can I use my Elle TENS in conjunction with other pain relief options during labour?
Of course! Your Elle TENS can be used on its own all the way until you give birth, or with other forms of pain relief as needed. Just remember not to use it in water
I'm planning a waterbirth, can I still use a TENS machine?
You can use the TENS machine up until the point of getting into the water, including a shower. The TENS machine will then need to be removed
Should I test the TENS machine prior to labour?
We definitely highly recommend this! You can test your TENS by placing the electrodes on your arm and turning it to a low setting. You can also ask your birth partner to place the electrodes on your lower back and feel the sensations for a few minutes. This will help you get a sense of how the machine feels or troubleshoot any issues that may arise Note: make sure to pop the electrodes back on the plastic they came on when not in use so they are in top condition for when you need them again - placing them on other mediums will make them lose their adhesive properties
I am due really soon, do you have machines available and how long will it take to get to me?
At TENS Hire Perth customer satisfaction is our top value. If you are ordering a TENS Machine last minute we will do our best to get it to you ASAP. Our click and collect locations are open 7 days and your TENS Machine will be available to collect within 24 hours of the order being received, sometimes even on the same day depending on the time of day the order is received. If shipping is required we recommend express shipping to allow the order to get to you quickly. Is it possible to extend my hire if I need extra time?
Absolutely! If you need to extend your hire we charge $20 per week. Please let us know if extra time is required or visit this page to purchase more time
Where do I place the electrode pads?
There are four pads that come with your TENS machine. 2 start at your bra line and 2 finish at your underwear line - both vertical and on either sides of your spine. We recommend to avoid placing the pads directly over the spine and also to avoid areas of broken skin
