What's the hire process ?
At TENS Hire Perth we like to keep it simple
- Place your order and include your hire dates on our calendar
- Follow the prompts through to checkout, where you can select pick up
- When the birth pool is ready for collection we will send you the pick up instructions via email, on the date you selected
- When you are ready to return your birth pool, please contact us to arrange return
What are the benefits of a Water Birth?
What's Included with the Birth Pool hire?
- Single use liner: This liner is to be placed inside the pool after it has been inflated but before the pool is filled with water
- High-Quality Birth Pool: Simply Birth's Professional "Birth Pool in a Box - durable and comfortable, designed tor optimal support during labour
- Electric Air Pump: For quick and easy inflation of the birth pool
- Submersible Water Pump: To efficiently empty the pool after use
- Blue Food Grade Water Hose: For filling and emptying the pool, ensuring convenience (please only use this hose to fill the pool and not empty, to insure infection control is maintained)
- Thermometer: To monitor and maintain the ideal water temperature (your midwife will provide guidance around the correct temperature of the water)
- Tap connector: For connecting the hose onto you kitchen or bathroom tap. Alternatively it might be more effective to attach the hose to your washing machine taps
- Comprehensive Instructions: Detailed guidance on setup use and maintenance
- Puncture repair kit: We hope you would never have a puncture but in the unlikely event that you do, a puncture kit is supplied
- Customer Support: Access to our team for any questions or assistance needed during your rental period

Is a Birth Pool Safe?
Absolutely. Our birth pools are designed with safety in mind, using durable, medical-grade materials that provide stability and support during labour. We ensure that each pool meets high safety standards to offer a secure environment for both mother and baby
How is Hygiene Maintained?
Hygiene is our top priority. Each birth pool is meticulously cleaned and sanitized after every use, following strict protocols to ensure a sterile environment. We also clean them again prior to a new new hire period. We provide a new, disposable liner with every rental to maintain the highest hygiene standards
Do I still pay for the hire if I don't end up using the TENS machine?
Yes, unfortunately if your circumstances change or you didn’t use your TENS machine we are unable to issue refunds once the machine has been dispatched. If it has not been dispatched via mail or collected from us then we can issue a full refund.
What about the logistics of setting up a Birth Pool?
Setting up a birth pool is straightforward, and we provide comprehensive instructions to guide you through the process. Our package includes all necessary equipment, such as an electric air pump and a water hose, to make setup as seamless as possible. Our team is also available to answer any questions and provide support as needed
How do I know if a Birth Pool is right for me?
We recommend discussing your birth plan with your healthcare provider to determine if a water birth aligns with your needs and preferences. Our team is also available to provide additional information and guidance to help you make an informed decision
How long can I hire the Birth Pool for?
We offer flexible rental durations to suit your birth plan. Our hire times include 4 weeks, 6 weeks or 8 weeks. There is also the ability to extend the birth pool hire if you need more time. This flexibility ensures that you have access to the pool when you need it most. If you need to extend your hire please contact us.
What happens if I go into labour earlier or later than expected?
We understand that birth dates can be unpredictable. If your labour occurs outside of your expected rental period, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate any changes and ensure you have the support you need
Can I use the Birth Pool in any location?
Our birth pools are designed for versatility, allowing you to use them at home or in a hospital setting, provided there is adequate space and access to water. We recommend checking with your chosen birth location to ensure they can accommodate a birth pool
